just WOW zinger just wow
The Zingy-dude is actually right.
And I'd use wow! wow! wow! also!
As in "Wow! You hit the nail on the head with that!"

This actually seems like one of the most moronic ideas they ever had - BUT as long as I can freeload into FoW like I did up to now - I really won't care.

Just another sign that Guild Wars 2 will simply be generic MMO #351794.

Your prediction sounds very plausible. Right along with the scroll price increase.

I hope that this is just an experiment because if there aren't many people dinging a title, its gonna be pure failure.

What happens when EVERYONE that tries has gotten max titles? No more favor?

(a bit drastic assumption.. but still..)

Elonan Vanquisher should count, considering how long vanquishing takes.
Chill dude...read what it says on the bottom of the page.

Additional qualifying titles will be added upon the release of Guild Wars: Eye of the North.

Zinger, you're always so negative! Tsk tsk!

Anyways, this'll be interesting to see.

I'm definately more a fan of the HA way. It gives people a strong reason to fight in the HA. Not just for glory, but gives their whole nation (or continent) a boost from their victory. Very cool to me.

This new method, as others have said, has a number of flaws. The first being the grind aspect. It's not just a little grinding either. It's a whole crap load of grinding, more than I certainly would ever be interested in doing. The 2nd problem is that there are only so many players out there, eventually titles will cease to be achieved, and then no more favor for anyone.

So, that's 5 more grinds for Reputation with factions, and likely a title track for each minigame. Grind Wars, indeed.

If by interesting, you mean totally stupid and probably one of the worst ideas Anet has come up with (I know it is a stretch because of the vast amount of them) then I totally agree with you.

I guess time will tell as to how well this works, but there's one definite positive out of this: They recognized the current system wasn't working and they made a change. Really, I didn't think they would and I'm glad to see the effort being made to correct it.

Switching it to "Grind Wars" is actually on-point for another reason; now the whole world gets favour, awww, give us a hug! No need to fight AGAINST each other in any meaningful way!

I pretty much only PVE, and I never had a problem with PVP influencing it. I rather enjoyed having eveningtime (PST) roll around and start seeing CCCP get in there and keep the favour away from those damn ferriners! All my shrines light up and if I've got a difficult quest, or just some vanquishing to do, I can get myself a couple of bonuses and off I go.

They've done a few things here:

1) Limited access to world content; only when these conditions are met (possibly often at first, then tapering off) will you be ALLOWED to enter the Fissure of Woe or Underworld.

2) Removed an (not all, but one) incentive for PVE players to dabble into some of the PVP.

3) Introduced a new harassment opportunity, as someone else pointed out; as soon as your name gets broadcasted in the entrance zones you're going to be smacked with a million different whispers.

This is seriously just ten kinds of bizarre.

What of the individuals who have already ground out a good number of max titles? Does their evil plan include ways to award favour retroactively? More importantly, does ANet really think any of us would want to do that more than once?

I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of European ecto-farming voices cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced. I fear something terrible has happened.

I say that because every post that you submit in this forum is negative. From what I've seen you're never positive and others will agree on that.

Then don't bother working on your titles, simple as that.

That would require the items to give you more of an advantage than skill.. Like WoW.

You play WoW. Calling this game Grind Wars is like standing under a shower of diarrhea and point at someone who farted and saying: "YOU STINK!"
